Teen Pregnancy: Still An Important Issue

“Teen pregnancy rates have reached all-time lows, but it’s far from being a non-issue in America. Why? Teen pregnancy costs an estimated $10.9 billion annually and often carries an elevated risk for both mothers and babies.”                                        – Christine Seivers

So, what’s being done about teen pregnancy? Clearly, steps are being made in the right direction, hence the lower incident rates. Some of this has to do with improved education targeted to teens. In fact, teen pregnancy is an important topic that gets its fair share of space on In Search of Me Cafe.

And there are others who are continually involved in the issue:

partnering with In Search of Me Cafe
“Straight Talk … Teens & Success” is an initiative of the Jaguars Foundation in partnership with the Jacksonville media and Florida Blue to communicate to teens pathways to be successful in life, and address the issues that teens face today, including teen pregnancy.

Led by Jacksonville Jaguars Foundation President Peter Racine, Straight Talk partners with In Search of Me Cafe, sharing content across our respective channels. As a signal of continued relevance, Straight Talk began airing their 12th show in June of this year.

Please let me know what you think about the teen pregnancy issue. I look forward to hearing your suggestions on how In Search of Me Cafe can better address this topic going forward.
